# How to find out the quantities of bricks, cement & sand in 1cum brickwork

Here brick size is = 20 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm = 0.2 x 0.1 x 0.1 = 0.002m3

Number of bricks necessary in 1 cubic meter or m3 = 1/0.002 = 500

Ratio of Mortar = 1:6, by adding both of them, we get = 1+6 = 7

30% of mortar is applied in brick work.

Therefore, 1 cubic meter of brick work contains 0.3 cubic meter of mortar

Therefore, density or unit weight of cement = 1440 kg/cum

So, weight of 1 bag of cement = 50 kg

Therefore, weight of 1 bag of cement = 50 kg

Therefore, density of 1 bag of cement = 50/1440 = 0.0347 kg

Cement = (1 x 0.30)/7 = 0.04 cum

Required number of bags = 0.04 x (1/0.0347) = 1.15 bags

Sand = (6 x 0.30)/7 = 0.26 cum = 0.26 x 35.30 = 9.18 cft
