Standard Spacing Among Two RCC Columns

Construction Software

In this civil engineering article, you will get some vital notes on the maximum and minimum distances among two RCC columns.

The distance between two RCC columns is based on the following factors :-

1. The size of the structure
2. Types of loads operating on the top

3. Whether the column is situated in an open area or not
4. The strength of wind in that area
5. The grade of concrete/cement applied
6. The size of the columns
7. Whether the site is located on a seismic zone
8. Requirements of the project

When the size of the RCC columns is reduced, the spacing between the columns is also decreased whereas the spacing between the columns is increased with rise in column size.

There is no fixed distance among two RCC columns.

The maximum distance among two RCC columns should not be in excess of 6 meters.

The minimum distance among two RCC columns should not be lower than 2 meters.
