Learn to measure the quantity for cement, sand and aggregate for a concrete slab

This construction tutorial is recorded with the intension of providing helpful assistance for estimating quantity for cement, sand and aggregate for a concrete slab. Here the length of slab is taken as 14 feet, depth of slab is taken as 14 feet. Length of the cross section of the slab is 14 feet and the width is 6” (similar to 0.5’)

On the basis of the above figure, total volume of slab will be as follow :-

Here volume is represented as V, Length as L, Breadth as B and depth as d

Therefore, Volume = 14 x 14 x .5’ = 98 CFT

This volume will be treated as weight volume. But one has to transform it to dry volume as dry materials are used for developing the slab.

Formula for finding out the dry volume is Dry volume = wet volume x 1.54 = VD = 98 x 1.54 = 150.92 CFT
