How to calculate brick quantities for modular & Indian standard bricks

Construction Software

By going through this construction video tutorial, you can learn the process to calculate the brick quantities in 1 cubic meter or brick quantities in your building.

This method is applicable for modular type brick and Indian standard brick.

Given below, the detail calculation process for both modular type brick and Indian standard brick :-

The size of brick devoid of mortar = 190 x 90 x 90 mm

(length x breadth x thickness) The size of brick devoid of mortar = 230 x 115 x 75

Mortar’s density = 10 mm

(maximum density should be 10 to 12 mm as higher density may lead to reduction of strength) Mortar’s density = 10 mm

Brick size with mortar = 200 x 100 x 100 mm (after adding 5 mm mortar on both sides) Brick size with mortar = 240 x 125 x 85 mm (after adding 5 mm mortar on both sides)

Volume of 1 piece brick = 0.20 x 0.10 x 0.10 = 0.002 m3 (after converting to meter) Volume of 1 piece brick = 0.24 x 0.125 x 0.085 (after converting to meter) = 0.00255

Numbers of bricks in 1m3 is determined with the following formula :-

Volume of wall/volume of 1 brick
1m3/0.002 = 500

So, numbers of bricks = 500 Numbers of bricks in 1m3 is determined with the following formula :-

Volume of wall/volume of 1 brick

1m3/0.00255 = 392.15 = 393
So, numbers of bricks = 393
