Calculation the numbers of bars in a bundle of steel

This construction video tutorial will teach you how to calculate the quantity and numbers of steel bars in a bundle.

The following points should be remembered before starting the calculation :-

Length of 1 steel bar in a bundle is 40 feet or 12 to 12.20 meter.

Weight of 1 steel bar in a bundle is 8 mm dia.

We know, length of 1 steel bar = 12.20 meter and length per meter is 0.395 kg.

So, weight of bar = 12.20 x 0.395 = 4.80 kg

Weight of 1 bundle = 80 to 90 kg

Numbers of bars in 1 bundle should be calculated as follow :-

Weight of 1 bundle (in average) / Weight of 1 bar in a bundle i.e. 85 kg / 4.80 kg = 17.81 = 18 numbers

Therefore, nos. of bars in 1 bundle = 18
