Learn to work out quantities of bricks in a wall

Construction Software

This construction video tutorial will teach you how to calculate quantities of bricks in a wall.

Given below, the dimension of front elevation of the wall.

Size = 14’ x 11’
Length = 14’
Height = 11’
Other data is as follow :-
Size of the door = 7’ x 4’
Size of ventilator = 4’ x 2’
Size of ventilator = 5’ x 2’
Size of brick
Length = 9” or 0.75 feet
Breadth = 4.5”
Depth = 3”

So, the thickness of the wall is 9” or 0.75 feet

To find out the volume of the wall, the following formula will be applied :-

Length x Height x Thickness of the brick
V = 14 x 11 x 0.75 = 115.5 cubic feet
In one cubic feet there are 13.5 numbers of bricks

Therefore, total number of bricks = Volume of wall x 13.5 = 115.5 x 13.5 = 1559.25
